WHAT TO EXPECT

When you visit New Horizons for the first time you will feel like family. It is our goal to make you feel right at home. Feel free to dress casual and comfortable. You can grab a hot beverage at our coffee bar, then get ready for blended worship and biblical teaching. We also provide a safe and fun environment for your kids. If you have kids, come roughly 15 minutes early to get them checked into our Kids Zone. We look forward to meeting you this Sunday!

WE BELIEVE

• That the Bible is the infallible and authoritative Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

• That God exists in the form of three distinct beings: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).

• Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8-9).

• In the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 15:3-4)

• God gives eternal life to those who believe on Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

• In the imminent, personal, and visible return of Jesus Christ (I Thess. 4:13-18).

• In a literal heaven and hell (John 5:28-29).

• In the Great Commission to go and make disciples of every nation, baptizing and teaching them. (Matt 28:18-19)

• In the grace of giving. (2 Cor. 9:6-7)

• That God has a specific purpose for every person’s life. (Jer. 29:11)

• That God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods (Gen 1-2)

WHAT WE’re about

Come Together In Worship

God desires His people to come together in worship of Him. Worship means to ascribe worth. In essence, worship is giving. Anything we do for the Lord out of a heart of love can be an expression of worship. We are to ascribe worth to God by giving Him the glory that He deserves. We are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and we are to worship God in spirit and in truth. We can worship God every day, but it is also important to come together and worship God as a church.

GROW TOGETHER IN FELLOWSHIP

The life of a Christian is a life of continual growth. At New Horizons, we want you to be able to grow to be all God has called you to be. We want your faith to grow and for you to become a more devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Opportunities to grow at New Horizons include Growth Classes, Bible studies, Life Groups, social events, and other gatherings throughout the year.

SERVE TOGETHER IN MINISTRY

Christians are called to serve. Any church in the New Testament that was successful was a church in which the people were serving. The church as a whole is given spiritual gifts and abilities to be used to advance His purposes and His kingdom. Serving others is fulfilling and rewarding. According to Ephesians 4:12, the church is to do “the work of the ministry.” There are many opportunities to serve at New Horizons.

GO TOGETHER IN MISSION

The mission of the church has not changed since Christ first gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20. The church has a mission to go and preach the Gospel. We are ambassadors (2 Cor. 5), we are fishers of men (Jn. 4), and we are His witnesses (Acts 1:8). We must be a personal witness in our neighborhood and workplace. The church must be outreach minded and engage in reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
